چکیده

Malignant phyllodes tumors are relatively rare, accounting for 0.3 to 0.9% of all tumors of the breast. This tumor metastasizes approximately 20% of the cases depending upon the histologic behavior (1). The most common site of metastasis is the lung (1). Of all possible organs, metastasis to the skeletal muscle is relatively unusual. Moreover, imaging findings of metastasis to the skeletal muscle for patients with sarcoma such as phyllodes tumors like our case have not been published in the radiology literature, to the best of our knowledge. All the previous articles were more focused on muscle metastasis from carcinoma rather than from sarcoma (2-4). Accordingly, the purpose of this article was to present the radiological findings of metastasis of a sarcoma to the skeletal muscle that we observed in a patient with malignant phyllodes tumor, including ultrasonography (US), 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) positron emission tomography (PET)-computed tomography (CT), and magnetic resonance (MR) imaging.

Benign Phyllodes Tumor With Cystic Squamous Metaplasia: A Cytohistological Correlation of a Rare Case

Background: Phyllodes tumors (PTs) are uncommon biphasic fibroepithelial neoplasms of the breast occurring in elderly females with a peak incidence between 45 and 49 years. Depending on various histological criteria, they are subdivided into benign, borderline, and malignant forms. Metaplastic changes occur, but are quite infrequent and cystic squamous metaplasia is ve...

A Rare Case of Breast Malignant Phyllodes Tumor With Metastases to the Kidney

Phyllodes tumors are rare breast neoplasms. Surgery is the treatment of choice. The role of postoperative radiotherapy and chemotherapy is still under dispute, as there are no equivocal prognostic factors. Treatment failure results in the occurrence of distant metastasis-mainly to the lungs, bones, liver, and brain. We have described the case of a woman with a malignant phyllodes tumor of the b...

Four months after the first surgery, a local recurrence of maligna...

Imaging of Pelvic Bone Metastasis from Malignant Phyllodes Breast Tumor

The author reports a patient with a malignant phyllodes breast tumor, who then had a ten-year disease free interval before she developed a left pelvic bone metastasis and soft tissue invasion. Cross-sectional and radionuclide imaging of its musculoskeletal metastasis is presented. Literature concerning bone metastasis from phyllodes tumor is also briefly reviewed and discussed, along with its e...

Breast Cancer Metastasis to Pituitary Infandibulum

Metastasis from breast cancer to other parts of the body is very common, but the spread of the tumor to pituitary gland, especially to infandibulum, is a rare presentation. At the time of pituitary metastasis, a majority of the patients have clinical and radiological evidence of the disease. It seems that the posterior area of the gland is the most common site of metastasis, probably due to hig...
